While writing fiction is my first love, I believe that authors
cannot solely live in a world of their own fantasies. Life does not happen in our heads; it happens out there, in a world
where, every day, lives are given and taken and where loves are gained and lost. Nearly seven billion souls make up this world
of rights and wrongs, of triumphs and injustices. Every day brings a litany of events that cannot be ignored, that cannot
be allowed to pass unremarked. For, while it is our choice to entertain, it is our duty to leave behind the lessons learned
from our explorations into the human condition.
These
are my contributions to the totality of human thought. If they unshackle one mind from the limitations of human custom, I
will die happy, for I will be content in the knowledge that someday we will all be freer than we are today.
